Price of a new battery for an air z nitrox Just had a quote of £120.00 for the fitting of new batteries in my air z nitrox and transmitter. Is it just me or does this seem a tad excessive??? Has anybody else had new batteries fitted to their uwatecs lately, how much did you pay???

Thanks for the help guys but my original post didnt quite read correctly.. It should have said have been charged 120 instead of quoted..... The computer and transmitter went back to uwatec for the new batteries, they then managed to loose my transmitter and had to send me a new one. Now im not sure if maybe I have been charged for a new transmitter as well as my computer battery. LDS owner was not in on Sat so left my gear at the shop and wont be able to sort this out till next week so was just curious in the meantime to see if anybody else had been charged such an extortionate amount for two batteries or what the going rate normally is when they go back to the manufacturer??? Thanks in advance for any help

Just phoned another LDS and was quoted 60 for the computer battery and 20 for the transmitter when sent back to scubapro?? does this this sound about right? im sure somebody on the forums must have sent back their computer over the winter, how does this price compare? Im thinking I might well have been charged for a new transmitter ![]()

Call Scubapro and ask them what they received from your LDS if you had the old serial numbers of both bits they should have been entered into their booking in system. Check what they quote for both batteries to be replaced. Also If they have lost it they would own up. Also had you attempted to change any battery yourself?

It's easy to change the battery in the older Aladins yourself if you don't mind soldering, and you can get a suitable cell from RS for about three quid (or pay scubapro ten times that for the official part). I've just done one for a friend. I've heard that the new ones are oil filled and will die if you open them, but even so, £120 sounds excessive. What does a new computer cost?
