Smile User change of Vytec DS battery

HI all,

I am not yet in need of a new battery for my Vytec DS but thought I should get hold of a spare one to take on hols etc.

Can anybody recommend a reliable source for the battery kit? My initial trawl for a price on the interweb is showing a wide variation and I don't want to get the wrong bits.

Are they easy to swap?

regards

Chris

eBay. Just do a search for Vytec Battery in the Diving/Computers section.

BTW, the battery is a CR2450 and you can pick one up in Maplins for a couple of quid. If you're careful with the O-ring and it looks OK, you should be able to reuse it. If you buy the kit on eBay, it'll cost £4-5.

I have a Vyper and have always put a little grease on mine, however, S'pro ones are teflon and don't need (in fact, should not have) grease. So I shall be checking mine very carefully at the next change

abit late but you can get a whole load of them (they come in packs of 5) from battery retailers. which works out at around £0.50-1 per battery if i recall.

a bag of O-rings for a few quid and your set till the computer dies. batt change for about £1 each time
