Its me again. Venus i have just used my lads vyper.

1 open dive manager first

2 conect serial to vyper

3 switch on tr pc funtion making sure you press select via mode button

4 connect usb to puter

5 then actions dowload wizard and follow wizard

no need to enter passwords etc

Re vyper 2 just follow same inst no need to put into logbook etc, once you connect serial to it data transfer appears on screen then plug usb to puter making sure dive manager is on

Hi Crieagle

Thanks so much for this
I have tried it in so many different variation of the process you wrote in all the different ports

I only just bought the cable the other week at the same time as the Viper2
so, I had not tried it with the original Viper until last week

I will dig out my old lap top tomorrow which has windows XP, and I'll give it a try on there

Thanks

V

I don't know about the Vyper2, but for those who's computers don't recognise anything plugged in, have you installed the USB drivers?

You can get them HERE

Also Vista only runs version 2.6 according to the Suunto website.

An update on the Vyper 2 and Dive Manager saga. I've managed to find the way into transferring data via Dive Logbook then Dive History. Transfer begins automatically BUT ...............

Although my screen shows that transfer is taking place (arrow transferring from computer icon to PC icon, the progress bar shows nothing being sent; the 0% doesn't change. Perhaps I need to update the software from the original purchased with my old Vyper!

Getting really p....ed off now!

An update on my update. My original Vyper used version 1.4 of Dive Manager. Yesterday I downloaded v.2.6 from the Suunto website (free) and this works with my Vyper2. It has not destroyed v.1.4 so I can continue to use the two computers separately. (This is interesting in itself as the two don't always agree on data/calculations from the same dive!)

Now I have to learn to get the hang of the v.2.4 format and entry of data. For instance I cannot work out how to enter information about my cylinder type in the General Information section.

Not quite as frustrated anymore - thanks for the comments, particularly Crieagle's advice via PM.
