Aladin Pro in error mode

Hi,
Diving Minxsy's Uwatec Aladin Pro is showing "ERR" . It was stored over winter in her mask case, unfortunately there was some moisture in there and we are thinking that a shallow dive for 5 months might have upset it? It had 66% battery in October 2007.

We have dried it out, does anybody know if it will sort itself out given time? anything else we can do to help it? Or is it likely to need to go back to Uwatec?

Thanks,
Rob

oh and if you keep it in your garage or a cold place this will drain your battery even quicker!!

the battery % doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to how much life the computer has left - they all seem to die horrible deaths at fifty-something percent

ERR seems to be the normal messge for a low battery

If it didn't turn off completely I'm surprised it has any life left after 5 months!

ERR is the signal for shagged baterry as I found out last year. Luckily it was the first day of the trip and it was my back up.

It was explained to me that the battery % displayed is not remaining life (as in time) but remaining power. Once they get down to 50%-ish they do not have enough umph (for want of a better expression) to run the calcs required.

Aladins (as I understand it) constantly mointor temp / pressure (on tickover so to speak) so will use the least power when stored warm and dry.

Cheers, John

Are Divequip operational or away on a trip. I have emailed them and left telephone message on their machine; but no response.

I too need an Aladin battery changed.

Neil

Calcs aren't the issue....it's the power required to drive the display that I believe are the problem

If it thinks it has been diving then it now thinks you are bent! Give it 24hrs and it should start working agin. After 48 all errors are gone.....unless the battery is shagged!
