D6 Straps cracking

Just took of my D6 for the first time in a while and found that there are a lot of cracks in the rubber on the inside. Chatting to a mate who has one as well his strap went within 18 months same age as mine. At a LDS on Friday a number of staff there also had the same cracking. Not sure what was the cause but thankfully I spotted mine before I lost it. Also a couple of months ago the strap retainer broke, may be that is something to be aware of as well.

Pete! saw the sea in a book once
Alot of them seem to do this, must be some sort of design fault. The sides of the strap slightly fracture and then eventually the whole thing will just snap. its easily replaced though and not too expensive.
