Normal AAs

Apparently the colour screen VR3s respond well to 3.6V batteries, but monochrome ones are just dandy with standard alkaline AAs

i use 3.6 lithium cells as i run it with backlight on throughout the dive and its colour screen,

mono screen versions can get away with a lesser cell...

I do use the Lithium Thionyl 3.6v ones from RS in my normal VR£ but they work very well and last alot longer than regular Alkaline AA's.

At about £4.50 each I got three or four and they've lasted for years each. In fact I'm only still on the first one

I use Lithium Thynoryl 3.6v ones for my colour, but as Nick says Ive given them to my mates and the ones with Monocrome VR3's go a bit nuts, so if youve got a non colour stick with normal AA's.

Strange, cos my Monochrome one works fine with Li Thionyl batteries.

I had a 3.6V in my vr£ turn off 20mins into a 70m dive on friday so im sticking to AA's from now on as you cant tell what is left in the 3.6v's and they just drop out
