That's why I got one. 80% of all my dives are triangular profile - a computer is ideal for this.

Actually, after looking hard at a Gecko/Vyper, I'm seriously considering getting another Uwatec - my Aladin Pro has worked faultlessly for 9 years now and still has 57% voltage showing; I might spend $140 on a new battery or $600+ on a completely new computer that can do nitrox too, although I would dive nitrox on air profiles, when I used it. I'm thinking the Aladin Prime, which incorporates a watch or else the bog standard Aladin 1, which should be fine for my sort of diving - I don't give a ratsarse about downloading my dive profiles to a PC; as long as I'm not bent after the dive, I'm not terribly interested in what went on minute to minute..

The only thing that dissatisfies with my current model is the expense of changing the battery - the newer ones are user replaceable.

Ok this is where every diver and their dog, cat or hamster has a go at me

What he said.

I only plan dives if theres gas management involved. So usualy only deco dives or penitration dives (caves)

Bought my one in Sept last year & it has been faultless. My only complaints about it are that the dive planner only works within one mix NDL, the light doesn't stay on long enough to manage an ascent in the dark easily and I don't like the fact that if you have a mix greater than 21% programmed in, then by default it will change that to 99% at midnight.

This wouldn't stop me getting another one though as they are amazing value.
