Ouch this is going to be expensive

Morning all

Just recieved an email from DetaP service department and it's not good news

My trusty old VR3 (2.1 2pin fisher) has flooded through the com port and is beyond repair.

they hav advised that they will "upgrade for £470" to an equivelent with TX CCR XPO2 Is this worth it or should I concider somthing else?

I assume this will become a 7pin io connnector so will need to replace the interface betwen my KISS and Inspiration which I'm not happy about, What are the alternatives, whould a sheerwater offer me similar functionality? What are they selling for at the moment?
Thanks in advance

Fin

When the PIN code/upgrades are purchased, are they transferable in that DeltaP could provide you the same upgrade for another older VR3? IOW, it is the hardware that has failed, not the PIN codes. Then second hand purchase may make sense.

There's a Shearwater for sale on RBW at the moment at £400.

I've had one for about 3mths, I like it. I got it purely as a PO2 display as it will read all 3 cells. Nice bit of kit but big.
