| Fantastic an idiots guide to VR3's Doesn't it come with an instruction manual For the blokes out there an instruction manual is something you normally get with an item, which having read it you are then familiar with its use. |

| ahh true but its a well know fact that the vr3 instruction manual is probably the worst guide in the history of all dive computers. And besides has anyone ever actually read it? All I want Is one comprehensive piece of work that can answer all the questions in one place instead of a million forum posts whats an instruction manual? | Intro The core function of the VR3 remains as a multi gas, reprogrammable dive computer for use with open and closed circuit diving. The VR computers are the most up to date computers on the market and Delta P aim to keep them right there on the cutting edge of technology by adding useful options and fun features all the time. They are interactive tools which meet the needs and match the lifestyle of those of you who are used to the advantages of mobile phones and PDAs in your surface existence and want similar technology to accompany you on your underwater adventures. The original VR3 brought in water mixed decompression calculations to reality It features a mobile phone style LCD panel with one of the best backlights I have ever seen on a dive computer. The orientation of the display can be changed by a couple of simple button presses. On the side of the case is a port for connection of an external O2 sensor that can be used to provide real time PO2 information to the VR3’s decompression algorithm. The sensor can be connected to virtually any rebreather (with appropriate fittings). The unit comes in several configurations ranging from a basic Nitrox Open Circuit version through to a Closed Circuit Rebreather enabled Tri-Mix version. All units are upgradeable without return to the factory via a simple PIN system. Operation of the unit is achieved by pressing the two plunger style black buttons on the top of the unit and is the method used for initial setup and making gas or set-point switches during the dive. The unit is capable of handling 10 gas mixes, which can also be changed on the fly in water as well as providing multiple set-points for CCR diving. The unit is delivered pre-programmed with a full range of the most “popular” choices of gas ranging from air, and Nitrox mixed through to Tri-Mix and O2. |
