Suunto D9 backlight

Hi everyone

So I have my shiny new D9 (yay) and I'm fiddling around with it as per the manual. However, I can't get the backlight to turn on! I'm pressing and holding MODE for 2 seconds and longer and it's not illuminating!

What am I doing wrong? This is in TIME mode by the way....

Hmmm...

I fear the worst...

An expensive bit of kit that doesn't work as it should on day one...

BOOOOOO

Ok!

Mild panic over...

I called SUUNTO and said "it's not working... WAHHHH!"

They calmed me down and then said... "hmmm... try it in the dark..." which I did... then they said "go into the settings... turn it to "off" then back out, then in to settings again, then to 5s (the default) and then try..."

VOILA!

Top marks Suunto support!

Back to playing with my new toy

Hello there Calski, thought you'd given up on the diving as we hadn't seen you on here in so long! Glad your new toy is working now

Hi Derek

No, just gave up living in the UK

Still diving although it's now subject to the rigors of the Atlantic ocean and the dramatically changing weather fronts of the South of Ireland.

Makes a change from our jaunts around Stoney though!

Yes, the new toy is nice and shiny and thankfully, working as it should... I was getting very upset there for a moment!
