Apeks Quantum

Anyone bought one of these? I found a place that does them mail order at 199 notes. My old Datamax has decided not to come apart to renew the battery. Missus uses a Suunto.
The Apeks is capable of one gas switch and guage mode for mix dives. The website gives chuff all indication of the algorith used however. The Suunto is a modified algo with some RGBM in it making it conservative.
What do you think guys? Buy one or go for a Suunto (shed loads more dosh) and at least dive the same algorithm as the missus?

Chris.

Why don't they put this on the sales blurb? Sort of the main feature you need to know I would have thought.

I've got one and it's great. 2 mixes and does more than a Vyper at 50 quid less. Apparently the download kit might be a bit ££££ and Lumb Bros are just finishing off the scratch guards for them. I use it side by side with a Vyper and perfer the Apeks.

I'll let you know after the weekend. Might be worth PMing Woz, he's got one and likes it a lot, and I was thinking abotu getting one as a stepping stone to a VR3 really. It will do everythign I need for the next 12 months at least, and will have high resale value if you ask me, once people start loving the things.

Digs.

I have been eyeing too but put off by the lack of clarity and PC download and interface - are they available and how much.

I wanted a 2 mix comp and I got one from Go-Dive who were offering it at £159 +P&P.
Used it 3 times so far and the only complaint is that at night the light will not stay on. As a result it gave me a bollocking on nearly every count. Maybe Stoney at night was not the best place for a kit test.
Day time its good and more conservative that the Pro Ultra I was comparing it against.
