SUUNTO: Vyper or Mosquito

I dont really wear a watch outside of diving, so thats not a problem. Would the Mosquito strap fit around the arm of my drysuit.

Thanks

Yep.
Even if its tight, you can easily buy a strap etension. Its a bit of strap with holes at one end and a buckle at the other.

Id go Vyper tho. If only for the clarity and size of the display.

Yep. Mosquito is more of a watch/dive computer hybrid - OK for a backup, but not as easy to read as the vyper..

Mossie comes with an Extension strap thingy.
Fits over my Drysuit or 7mm semi no problem.

I personally do'nt have any issues with the display size although I agree the Vyper is bigger

I have a Mosquito and hate with a passion the extension strap that they supply. Sorry to the people who use and like it but I think it is one of the worst designed bits of diving equipment ever. It seems all lose and likely to full off.

I recently posted on here about extensions and ways around this strap. Suunto actualy do (apparently stoping or stopped) a neoprene wrist strap. I managed to get one from Kent diving and this is big enought to go over the drysuit and feel secure. I also use a lanyard just incase something does break or come undone.

If your shop has one instock maybe go along and try it out. I do love my Mosquito but the standard strap had to go.

As for the Vyper why not put a bit more money forward and get the Vytec? The dive show is coming up soon so maybe you would get a good deal there? I know that as my diving moves on Im looking for a new computer. If I had spent out a little more first time round then maybe I would not be looking now.

Just my thoughts

Jamie

If you want a dive computer then Vyper or even better the Vytec. Vytec will see you all the way to entry level trimix diving.

I've used a Mosquito for the last three years with no problems. Its easy to set and use, just wish it was bigger.

If that is the cheapest you can get it for I would call you LDS and see if they can beat or match the price. If they cant then I dont see any problem buying online.

I purchased mine online and had no problems at all.

Wait awhile though and someone may post so and so does them for £££.
It could be your get it cheaper than the £200.00 I did have a quick look though and that seems a good price???

let us know what you think when you get it.

Jamie
