Lost the ability to edit posts?

The option to edit posts seems to have disapeared!! Is it just me (too mcuh editing) or anyone else suffering from it too?

I can only edit a post if it is the last one in the thread.

Its on a timer so you can edit within 15 mins of posting and not thereafter. Certain recent events include a member systematically deleting a number of posts which can make the threads unintelligeable. You can now edit for a period of time after the initial post and then your soul belongs to me MWAAHHAAHAA

I would like my EDIT option back PLEEEAAASSSE. It takes more than fifteen minutes before I revisit something I have posted. It is on the "revisit" that Inotice all the stupid mistakes I have made.

Surely the occurrences of people editing previous posts to remove them altogether must be miniscule?

Can you set the option of edit/non edit on an individual account basis?

I'll be too frightened to post anything without an edit option (apart from this reply of course)!!!!!!

At least make the "lose the edit option" happen after 24 hours.

I edit about 75% of my posts cause they normally they

a) Make me look like a tit
b) Come out as being really offensive in a way that I didn't mean.

Now I know that you can't do much about (a), but the edit post thing really helps with (b). I do preview the post, but somehow it never reads the same as once it's posted.

I would say we need at least an hour.

PS If the person is who I think it is then the deleting posts only occurred after an argument started by a certain other person replying to it 7 weeks later as if the situation had not changed. Everythings getting a little too heavy handed lately, if you care what I think that is I too will edit posts after a second or third reading if I think it can be explained better, so to lose this function is a posting deterrent which might be a good thing I guess

I am happy to extend the 'editing' period if that helps but the whole idea is to encourage you to READ your posts before posting them. When people change posts that are histrorical then the whole meaning of the thread can be lost.
