Question That's not right! Hiccups in Access to YD Homepage!

No idea why but when I try to get into YD via www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk I get an error message and a test page for the apache web server. If I go in via a forums bookmark it is fine.

Bren what is going on?

I've had a number of PMs, emails and Skype messages about this very subject and all I can say (and I can see Jay sniggering behind his duty free as I write) is that it's an issue which only Jay can resolve (2Tanx and myself are not employed for our IT skills - or our looks, come to think of it ).

We are aware of the problem, I've copied Jay on a couple of PMs regarding it and all I can ask is that you bear with us guys.

Jay's just (today, I think) got back from Gran Canaria, so allow him time to unpack, switch on and have a swaatch at his emails and PMs and we'll try and get it resolved as soon as possible.

Are folks able to get on the the site and then the only problem is accessing the homepage, or are you having problems getting on YD full-stop? (mind you, if you can't get on to YD, you're not gonna be able to read this message, right?! )

Phew, I thought it was just me!!!.

I found that I could access the YD home page without problem until the early hours of Sat morning using AOL. (AOL .....Hmmmm does that make me a bad person? ) However, no matter what I tried I could not get to the home page using AOL late on Sat morning, all I saw was the dread test page. As yet nothing has changed. All the links at the top of the forum page work, apart from the link to the home page.

I have no problems at all with the YD site when using IE6 through AOL.

Is this problem an AOL thing?

I've just tried now and I can reach and see everything on the homepage no problems - and I'm on Mozzilla Firefox (as a browser) and BT as a broadband provider.

One exception - I can't see any sponsor Ads/banners, but that's normal for me as I need to correct in my firewall/Firefox arrangement/settings, as I've never been able to see sponsor banners.

Try clearing the cache on your browser - sounds to me like there was a server-side problem that's now been resolved, but your browser is looking at the old cached page rather than the current version.

I had this problem approx 3 mths ago. It turned out that Internet Explorer was stopping access to YD, ended up using Mozilla Fox and have had no probs since.

press ctrl and Alt together then F5 at the top of the key board.

Had this a while ago, and some real computer wizards on YD suggested this which worked for me :-)
I had to do this earlier today.
Malcolm.

I think Tom has it, I wasn't getting the home page until I just did a refresh, mind you I was refreshing earlier and it didn't seem to help.
