Cut and paste from a Word document
I've been trying to cut and paste a trip report from a Word document (see my thread "Brother Islands - Fourth time lucky!") since last evening. It worked fine on Divernet but not here. Why?

I copied and pasted my 'tobago on wind dancer report from word to here with no problem earlier this week

In theory it should work.....
but it might be worth pasting into Notepad first then copy and paste from Notepad into here.

its due to the formatting. As Mal Says, paste it into notepad first.

Are you doing right click to paste or ctrl v? Some times the right click doesn't work to paste.

I've no problem pasting the text in the post but for some reason it is in a very large style and when I click on "Save changes", or whatever it says, only the first two lines are included. I haven't bothered to try pasting to notebook first. As I said, cutting and pasting direct from Word works fine on Divernet (and on both the Swedish forums of which I 'm a member), so why not here?

Very strange, it must be the formatting then as others have said, might be worthwhile putting it into notebook for your next trip report, or just copy and paste from the other forums you are adding to.

open the saved word doc in notepad (change the file types to 'all') and then copy and paste from there - you won't even need to save any changes

Ctrl and A - select all

Ctrl and C - copy

ctrl and V - paste
