Smile PDA - Deco Software

My wife has her own PDA and now her company are giving her a Blackberry instead, so I am getting the PDA. What software can I use with it, where can I get it and what's the cost. I want the software for my Trimix diving as carrying the PC around is a pain, especially as we occasionally mix our own on location.

Any advice appreciated,

Paul

It's silver !

I think it's a Palm Tungsten, cost about £300 new, if that makes sense

Ditto.

Agree with beanie - J-Plan is good, runs on the Palm and uses a well proven Buhlman algorithm with tweakable GF's and can do Trimix and CCR diving. I know the guy who wrote it, and was using it until recently when my old Palm Vx died on me

Alternatively V-Planner uses the VPM-B algorithm, does Trimix and CCR, and is available for Pocket PC, but will cost you money.

IMHO worth every penny of the £30 though. Mr Hemmingway provides superb after sales support aswell.

There is also a Palm version of XS at www.lizardland.co.uk which is free. It uses Hamilton Research's M11F6 algortihm. I'm currently working on the CC version.

Decoweenie is also good but I don't like gradient factors. Phi was talking about putting VPM into it, I think the latest version has it, though it is a pay-to-dive program.

Other stuff I'd recommend is Ken Hancock's dive log: members.aol.com/khancock/pilot.html again free.

I use a Sensus Pro from www.reefnet.on.ca for recording my dive data and download it to my Palm with thei software which is good. They also do a good dive log too for the Palm.
