Re the DCI and the pain through recompression had the same when they recompress me to -45m (cf http://www.snoopyloop.com/Exped%20Go...ed%202003.html) it was much more hurting and after 10 minutes at -45m it diseapeard ... PS, agree with US Navy: Argon is bullshit, just another way for the diving industry to make money ... or maybe it's in your head ; - )

The laws of physics would appear to be in favour of argon, but I'm sure there are many other things you have to get right before it makes a tangible difference. I personally suspect that the moisture content of the gas in the suit is very important and will swamp any difference in suit inflation gas if not controlled (eg leaky suit or sweating before the dive). |

| Argon makes an immediate difference to me. When putting gas in the suit with air it feels warm as the air goes through the fibres of the undersuit, if you know what I mean, but when putting argon in it feels hot, much warmer than air. Just my opinion, and it might just be all in my imagination, but I'm warmer and thats what counts Andy |

| Hi Sometimes, not always, it just depends on how I've kitted up, whether I remember or not. I don't really get cold at all, but do notice a difference when injecting the different gasses into my drysuit. Its not just me either, Mark has mentioned the same thing. I don't know if it actually makes a difference in core temperature or not, as I have very little gas in my suit, but it seems that when you inject gas into your suit and it passes through the undersuit to the skin, the undersuit must warm the gas. Argon gets significantly warmer than air when doing this. Andy Last edited by And : 17-01-05 at 10:05 AM. |
