Don't forget that subsequent balancing will result in even lower pressure fills as your source cylinder is depleting.

Allowing for a bit of O2 lost during the decanting and having 50 Bar left in the 3l after each use, you'll get something like:

165 Bar (from empty)
145 Bar
130 Bar
115 Bar
100 Bar and so on .....

I'm sure you can see a pattern emerging here

This sort of thing is better done with multiple cylinders in a cascade, filling from the lowest pressure source first. But that's a bit elaborate for a home-brew solution (for most people, anyway).

And J's of gas. Then you need a decent LP compressor to run the booster and a couple of HP compressors to blow air to 300 bar. And then, after the two full time jobs it takes to pay for this all, you don't get enough time left to go diving.

Nice compressor that is fast and can do 4 fill's at the same time ... beside it is ONE bottle bank for top off's ....

Cheap 'J' 's of O2 are not a problem to get hold of.
