Question any idea's

i am building a trapeeze deco frame for a mate here in north devon with two stages using chains and scafold bars connected to four surface bouys
i was looking to connect the divers to this via a clipline that then lets you just hang there.

has anyone got any other ideas for this configuration

and would you have this suspended under the boat or free so that the boat can colect stragglers or divers that have missed the shot line?

deco trapeze

hi milldog

there are lots of ideas for deco stations, the one we use is made from ali tube set at 4.5 mtrs 6mtrs 9mtrs, with a drop line giving us a total depth of 22mtrs attached to the shot line with a quick release clip at the bottom of the drop line, we have a slate with names written on duck tape as you come up the shot line you peel off your name the last one up releases the drop line line and we drift off, if you did not do this it would be very difficult in a strong run to hang on, regarding stragglers or people who have missed the shot line then your dive profiles come into force if any diver misses the shot then the divers on the trapeze after a while must assume that they have sent up a blobby and have made their own way up and release the stage, you have to if possible ensure that all of your group stick to their profiles for this to work what i would like to point out is it is a lot easier and safer using a deco station than a blobby and a lot of skippers prefer them for obvious reasons.

It is also worth considering an easily cutable or detachable join in the lazy about five metres down from the 9m bar.

This allows someone to detach the station if all divers have not returned to the shot after a preagreed cutoff time.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.
