| 2 breath or not 2 breath thats the question OK here's one for you you finish diving go into DECO and then surface no signs of DCI or anything else, what do you do now 1. finish breathing the 80% (or whatever) whilst dekitting etc 2. stop breathing the deco gas altogether once on the boat i ask this because of a discussion i had and i belive that you should breath the DECO gas whilst dekitting as you are still off gassing your thoughts and comments please .......and I'll add a poll

I stay on the rich mix / RB until I'm sitting on the bench. If it's been quick pibkup by the skipper then I may breath the O2 for a bit longer before unkitting. If I've been floating for 10 mins before being picked up then I probably won't bother. It can't do any harm, so why not? Janos EDIT: Just noticed option (2). "Hiding a potential DCS?" Hmmm. Surely it hides it by preventing it

| I think it depends on what level of deco you go into but certainly I can't see it doing any harm so I voted Option 1 although in reality if I've only gone in by say 10 minutes then I'd probably not bother. I do however take my time dekitting. |

| I'd put a fcuking e on the end of breath to make breathe, though...

| It depends on how tight I cut the times ......... I certainly have no problem with breathing down my deco mix on the boat.

| I dont actually do advanced deco so my best mix will be my bottom gas, however if the ascent/recovery from a dive has been strenuos I do stay on my gas on the boat. Once I do advanced deco I dont think my policy will change, the extra O2 cant do any harm. Matt |

| Getting back on the boat can be quite an effort. I stay on 100% 02 untill I feel relaxed and my heart rate is back to normal. I also do breathing exercises. I am often asked by the skipper or other divers if i am OK but I just tell them i am chillin and i havent had any serious complaints so far. After a bad dive i may chose to stay on 02 for quite a while. I have had some extreemly dificult exits in the past in full rig and two 10s that required all my strength to get done. After those i sit on 02 for quite a while. ATB Mark Chase
