Matt - the magazine is 990. There are more politics than you could believe on a few other technical sites. There are a few on YD who have undertaken quite serious dives. However you're probably right when you say I have outgrown YD. Doesn't excuse people's attitudes though. Thanks anyway.

I've read all the posts and don't know any of the people or personalities involved, so maybe I can be a little objective.

It reads (In my opinion) That you requested advice, but then rubbished the advice and concern that was posted, this is implied by a response that appears to be ignoring the points and asking if there was any more 'serious or informed opinions'. I thank as a result people were upset and responded to that..

What ever your drive or ambition you may want to review how you respond to people, if you ask for advice you have to be prepared to listen even if it's not always the advice you want.

Again an outside opinion...

AnneMarie
I remembered it was 990 as I went to pick my boy up, only just got back online, glad you knew about it though. Perhaps when you get an answer you can post it so the next 'leading edge' diver wont have to search as much as you need to.
Regards
Matt

That suggests to me that you have a problem with your ego and you are definately going to be a statistic one of these days. mark my words!

I have came across people like you over the many years I have been diving and they all have become a statistic at one point, some fatal.

Big Steph.

Hi all im rather new to technical diving. Im surprised ti hear you say that v planner is not safe i have run dive profiles on pr0 planner and v planner and the latter seems to five much more conservative dive profiles with longer deco stops in the 17 mters to 9 meter range ( using +4 conservatism ) and 50% safety level and 100% micro bubbles on pro planner  Comments please

Ammers

I do use the VR3 but OC and I am dooing nothing like your profiles (max 70m so far) and I am OC so I cant help on that score. That said did you read the VR3 thread on these boards. There is a link to the snoopyloop site on there with a chap doing 180m CCR cave dives using a VR3.

He reckoned the VR3 set to 0 wasent conservitave enough for that sort of dive. He wanted to up it too plus 10 or 20%. Whilst you might well get away with less than 0% VR3 profiles on the bounce diving your doing now, you might find that doing the run times in the deep caves pushes your body that much harder.

I am in no position to preach to you as I wouldent even contemplate doing a 100m deep cave, 100m in OW scares me, but I hope you read the Snoopyloop site and get some decent info from there.

One way to fiddle with the VR3 apears to be to give it reduced He figures but I am sure you knew that any way.

Dive safe. If you realy want to stick two fingers up at your crtics then stay alive and stay healthy.

ATB & Happy Christmas
