Cool Suprise news on BBC
I was suprised to read an Article on the BBC website featuring well known Diving Doc Jules Eden.Not sure how this will affect his standing in the Industry and with the Sports diving mag etc. Don't know if the link below will take you to the story.

How will that leave things such as him being able to do HSE medicals? i have an appointment next month!

Not able to practice medicine for 9 months, that includes anything you need the letters BMBS or BMMS after your name for (ie medicals).

Thanks for the link that works, He has been suspended from practicing for 9 months so I assume that means all medicine including HSE medicals unless he can do that online for you as well? Virtual step test would be easy.

There is a second doc working at e-med, but I don't know his name, so i can't check he is Ok to do HSE medicals. bu88er.

He may have seemed to know what he was talking about, but they don't go suspending people lightly. The guy has done something which was deemed fairly dangerous, and it sounds it too, and as a result won't be doing a lot of doctoring for a while. That seems fair to me. If I made a mistake of that sort at work I would expect to get sacked, and I would expect for it to be very difficult to get another job.

So not such a loss to be honest. I wouldn't want to see a GP with what the GMC thinks is a "cavalier attitude" - I prefer my Doctors to be sensible conservative types, who don't take big risks, especially where health is concerned. Sounds like he has basically.

True, Digger, however, he is the sort of docotr who would find a way for people to dive/continue to dive as he knows his stuff. Other doctors who are more conservative are not as pragmatic.
