| V planner can any one tell me about it? Hi, I have herd bits and peices about the V planner but would any of you guys be able to give me a quick over view? I would be using it for dives on air or nitrox. Also where can I get the software from and is it sharewear or do you have to purchase it? Many thanks Rustferret |

| I believe you can download the free version & it will work for air & maybe for nitrox ,definitely won't work for anything less than 21% O2 ,ie trimix without buying the license . Here you go :- V-Planner VPM & VPM-B dive decompression software

Vplanner offers VPM type deco profiles. Do some reading before you use them. I don't know you so I could be offering advice to someone with far greater knowledge than I have, but on the off chance your not up on VPM Id strongly suggest starting off at level 4 safety on VPM or level 2 on the VPMBE setting the E is for extended shallow stops. For reasons which I haven't managed to fathom the "standard" setting for VPM is level 2. I found the straight VPM profiles on level 2 a little edgy for my taste. Lots of people use it but they arnt doing my sort of run times (120-180mins) so they haven't pushed it. Level 2 or even level 0 may be fine for you but I just recommend a little caution to start off with and work from there. ATB Mark Chase
