| Algoritem and Hydrox Tables Does anybody know the algorithm or formula which is used in (preferably the latest one) dive computers or is it really that secretive? I think it should be more public so anybody can contribute in order to improve it. Another question i would have is: if anybody have a hydrox tables or these can't be find in open domain too? |

Most improvements aren't improvements. They are just tweaking with what is or isn't acceptable risk. Balancing the exposure of being in the water against the dangers of ascending too fast. Quote:

| As far as I know hydrogen is really for stonkingly deep dives, beyond regular tech stuff. However, I could be very very very wrong.

| Tables for hydrogen / oxygen / helium have been around for quite a while, but not in the public domain. Comex used them with stunning results in the late 80s- early 90s. You have to be very, very, very, very careful as to the hydrogen / oxygen ratio's, it's specificaly a deep (sub 500msw gas). If you dont belive me about the very, very, very, very careful.........check out what happened to Lindenburg ! |

Yeah Comex did some experimental dives on Hydreliox and there was 'talk' of the mixture revolutionising oilfield diving. Well, it would have caused a revolution alright as everyone of us sat divers at the time said, "You can go and fornicate yourselves!". Having Oxygen to deal with is bad enough but Hydrogen too - in an offshore environment... never going to happen. I hope you get the info you desire Miha... just warn us if you're turning up on a boat with Hydreliox in your tanks... and we can get the burgers and sausages ready Berko
