HLPlanner

I found this free deco program on the net and it seems to spit out very similar information to V Planner when saftey factors are in the same region. (However, I can only compare very limited information at present as I don't have acess to a full version of V Planner.) Lost gas, blending engine etc etc also included. HLPlanner - FREE VPM-B based decompression software
I notice that there are some threads on it from acouple of years ago, has any one else looked at this program/compaired schedules for trimix dives using high O2/O2 deco mixes, or more importantly, been using it to plan dives?

Cheers.
Jon

Hi Jon,

I used to run proplanner for my back up tables, however, last year i used HL planner for all my planning. Just remember to look at the dive settings before you plan.....I couldn't work out why all the stops were in 3 metre increments until i noticed you could change them!

Anyway, i prefer it to proplanner now. Find it much easier to input and alter the data, and there isn't much difference between the two anyway with regard to runtimes...

i've never used V-planner so can't compare it to that......

Steve

I have allready been tweaking the settings and it is way nicer to use than Pro Planner.

Hi Jon,

I use it to plan my dives and I've found it really nice and very easy to use, as well as being easily customised to suit your preferences.

I was also taught to use it when I did the BSAC Extended Range Diver course. I can't really compare runtimes to other software though, mainly as I learned to use this and I haven't found any that are as nice to use.
