I use 21/35 as a deep deco gas although the dive I was planning above had no obvious place to stop at this depth and no need to stay there for any time so 30/30 came in as a 36 metre bottle.

| My standard deco planning software is deco planner. I'll check the results in v planner too. I dive neither profile but shape the results according to my training. Hello Clare, I ended up getting GUE Decoplanner. I will also get V-planner at a later date. You mention that you shape the results to your training. Why is there a difference between GUE Decoplanner and your GUE training? The only thing I change is adding extra minutes at the gas switches and also to extend the 21msw stop to take advantage of the O2 window, an extra 3-4 minutes. Is there something else that I should know or add/subtract from GUE Decoplanner? Thanks MFF. |

GUE's decoplanner you in the direction of understanding what deco you need to do by giving you a set of base guidelines in the form of 30/85 gradient factors, and then off you go and work out what works best for you by tweaking the settings over many dives. Neither come with "do this and nothing else settings". Neither come with a "this works for everyone" setting. Seems pretty similar to me. |
