Oooh good idea - now just need one more little thing to be fixed with the iPhone (namely having maps that work without a data connection, eg when i'm abroad or in the middle of nowhere) and I will finally give in and get one!

Out of interest, is it possible to "trade in" a Windows Mobile V-Planner license or swap it for an iPhone one?

Hi Ross, are licences transferable between the PC and iPhone versions or do you have to pay for both?

    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi,

Blackberry - we don't have anything for these. Its next on the list, but its a big "maybe".

We can't offer discounts or transfers with this program. Apple firmly controls the the purchase and payment system, and there is no means for discounts or other transfers. I'd even have to pay for my own copy!

I've got to say I think V-Planner is great and have the full version of it on the PC for cutting tables etc.

However, I have to agree with the comment above, £26 is a fair whack to splash out when you already have a licence and the free version of ideco on your iphone (which is a different algorithm I know, but still good for last minute dive planning when a PC is not available).

Pity, would have liked the continuity.

If at first you don't succeed then definitely do not take up parachuting!

My thoughts exactly - wouldn't it have been possible to build it in a similar way to the shareware version that requires a licence key to unlock it's full functionality? Would have made sense rather than charging such a high upfront cost for it - especially when they make such a big point of it being transferrable between platforms.

iPhone users are being penalised versus Windows Mobile users.

EDIT - I've since had it pointed out that the Mobile version also needs a separate licence and is in fact more expensive than the iPhone one so ignore that lst line... whoops.
