Erm you seem to be missing the point - as I said if you felt frustrated/offended/whatever why not try and improve the situation? You've hardly made it less likely to happen in the future. In fact you've created a self sustaining situation now.

You felt offended, so you offended that person and all of their friends because you felt everyone in that group would be like that. The group then dislikes what you are saying and responds and you use it as evidence you were right in the first place!

The term for this is paradigm. You are stuck in a viewpoint and as such use all evidence to back it up, therby reinforcing your viewpoint.

I have no problem with any dive agency and don't feel the need to go round stirring up hassle. I doubt you'll understand what I'm saying here either (stuck in your paradigm) so you'll know doubt use this as more reason to distrust DIR.

You're missing the point too, and I think we should agree to disagree - as quite obviously, I'm not going to get anywhere with you - as a discussion moves forward. Yours is mirroring what you are accusing me of existing in - and I honestly don't give it weight enough to argue against. If you don't like DiFF, or misunderstand what it represents - it's really simple - don't read the forum - if you do read the forum and see things you don't like - by all means say - but have a real discussion about it - ask us questions, and listen to the answers you get. If you just want to bang the same drum, and accuse us of doing something (increasing the divide etc) again and again and again - regardless of the information you are given in between - then don't be suprised if people get a little bored with giving you, repeatedly, the same answers.

All this over giving a skipper a flag and a plaque! And I don't think anyone I know has lost their sense of humour.......and also, thanks for the red blob - sheesh.

By the way - I agree completely - this is really starting to bore me now. If people want to believe DiFF is anti stuff (other than a divide) then fine - but it isn't. I'm going to spend the afternoon sorting out the instructons for Skewball, which we're playing at the cape tomorrow. Anyone who wants to continue arguing, carry on - but I'm out. I've said my bit.
