Need help for underwater wedding prank

Hello people,

I proposed to my girlfriend (Suzi) whilst on a diving holiday in Sharm two weeks ago.

Now that we're back, everyone is asking when we're getting married (2009) but this is where I need your help.

We're going for a wedding in the UK typical english modern style but a small affair. Basically we want to save money and have a big honeymoon diving the Galapagos and then going over to Micronesia.

But

Everyone that knows us is worried that we're going to do something off the wall like get married underwater.

To wind people up, we're planning on saying that we're going to get married in a sunken luxury cruise linner in their ball room (which is still in tacked even though the wreck lays at 30 meters)

Does anyone know of any such wreck, or have any other ideas we can use in the wind up?

Cheers,
Arron

The only ballroom I know of is on the Titanic

Me too

Thought it'd be a bit far fetched to say "we're getting married on the Titanic" though.

What was that American linners name that went down off Greece recently?

Congratulations.

Surely saying something about the Scylla might work. It ahs underwater cameras and everything. It wouldn't have a ballroom, but there would be a Wardroom.

p.s. none of them come here do they? this might just give the game away

Not yet, but Suzi's Dad is taking his open water at the age of 52 soon.

We brought him a DSD for fathers day and he loved it

Congratulations Arron!

I wonder if the Mikael Lermontov lying at about 30m between north and south island NZ would be any use? It was a luxury russian liner and might well have a ballroom.

Are you going to pretend to expect all the guests to try and learn to dive so that they can come along?!?!?!

The Wilhelm Gustloff in the Baltic has a Ballroom as:

"But the items of which the 66-year-old is most proud are from the Gustloff.

These include the blackened shell of a chandelier from the ship's ballroom, which he has turned into a coffee table, part of the ship's compass and, propped up outside his house, an algae- and mollusc-covered rusty stair rail."
