puddi Roger What with your posts on the rubber suit thread and now this wet pussy thing I'm beginning to wonder about you !!! I have a cat and he is intelligent enough not to pay attention to my turning up on sunday afternoons dripping wet and toting armloads of gear ( which is all to the good as he would rapidly become compost somewhere in the flower bed should I ever catch a single claw near my bcd ). However I have two excitable dogs next door who go totally ballistic whenever I push a purge valve when washing my gear. As you know I'm the only paranoid diver in Viking sac to carry three regs so this can involve a rather exhausting afternoon for my canine audience. Considering they always start to bark when I am trying to catch some rays and quality zed's in the back garden I can only smile and say 'serves the b*****ds right ! Can't be too careful, better purge those regs again ! Chris

best not to purge your regs when washing them just let them soak

Roger, I know where you are comming from; you don't want water getting into the L/P hose and maybe back to the first stage, possibly causing damage. I leave my regs connected to my tanks and pressurised when washing so when I purge it's no more than operational conditions but I think this might just get the diaphram that bit cleaner than maybe leaving with sea water residue. Does this make sense or have I misread reg construction ? Chris
