| I was at Capers yesterday. I sepnt most of my time on top of the container doing drills with my twin 12s and stage. I have to confess I would not have given the wheel this amount of thought

| In my 'yoof' I used to frequent Jackdaw Quarry (to give it it's real name) where the locals used to spend their sunny weekends having a BBQ, picnic, jump off the cliffs into the nice clear water to cool down (think it's called tombstoning these days), even jumping from the high near vertical southern end...ahhh, the hazy days of summer. Anyway, also evident was a plethora of burnt out cars/vans in the shallows and around the perimeter. Many have obviously been removed and/or moved, but I wouldn't be surprised if 'your wheel' was just a sad, lonely random wheel. Have you thought about putting an ad up 'Wheel found in quarry, have you lost one and not noticed?' ![]()

The Delph was known as... the delph. Usually Eccy delph as it's near eccleston. It was a different shape back then. Full of Pike I recall. When you stood on the top of the cliff, you could see the tops of the mining machinery in the water below. Circa 1985 we used to tie a BMX to 50 yards of rope and tie the other end to a tree. If you pedalled really hard you could clear the edge of the cliff and the rope would pull tight catapulting you over the handlebars and into the water 10M below. How I can still walk is a mystery ![]()

| There are several cars and vans in Capers which I've found on my deviations from the standard features. I seem to remember a mk11 escort somewhere.

| The estate car that was filmed going over the cliff edge on Emmerdale was actually filmed at Capers and the car was recovered and left just at the gates leading down to the water for months and people expected it was going to be a 'new' attraction to dive round but its gone?? where?? not in the water thats for sure. |
