I think this is a wicked idea. And perhaps this years bigges Christmas present amongst divers?
Have a look at Scubasigns the guide to all Scuba diving hand signals

Hey Anders.
Welcome to YD.

The NACD blue book is useful and holds about twenty or so more which I know but can't recall using for real. Signs for bent, CO2, room, stage, etc. For anything else I have my wetnotes and a pencil. I like looking back through my wetnotes. I have one page in my writing which says 'where are the bottles' and Jarrod's writing which says 'we must have missed them'![]()

Interested in DIR dive training/courses? - always happy to chat/answer questions via PM or email
I get <ok> <problem> <up> <down> <stop> <deco> <level> and the one handed numbers so 17. I need the numbers so we can negotiate next stop when we're diving multiple computers.
Well there's the <you> <watch> <me> sequence and <your turn> we use training but if you need them explaining you're in trouble. There was a <T> two handed thing but nobody was ever clear if that was turn back or 100 bar so I never use it now. <points to gauge><9><5> is so much clearer.
Does it have -
- Engine
- Propshaft
- Boiler
- Gun
- Help me dig this out...
These are frequent ones that my team often complain about - especially Engine. "I couldn't see a steering wheel...."
On the subject of wetnotes, I have one that says "I <heart> drift dives"
