Undersuit/thermal/drysuit choices?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi folks,
I've got a bit of sorting out of kit to do now that I have a new drysuit.
My current kit is:
1x DUI TLS350 (cave cut

).
1x Polar Bears Explorer (baggy cut

).
1x Old PB 400grm thinsulate plus booties.
1x 3mm gloves.
Now with the rapidly approaching winter season with most of my diving likely to be in Stoney and Gildy (for the most part) I'm thinking about adjusting things. The old 400 has gone all thin and chilly (and I'm a wuss). It's spot on for summer diving but it's not going to cut it on it's own in the winter especially since the thinsulate seems to have broken down in parts.
My two ideas are both with merits:
1 - Get a set of Xerotherm arctics for under the 400 in the baggy PB suit. Add ring dry gloves to the current O-ring cuff seals with no inside seals (since dives are short and shallow) and quallofil undergloves. This option is cheaper and I get to have 2 suits so one can be a spare if need be.
2 - Get a new Santi 400grm thinsulate with their thermals underneath and add Ro-lock dry gloves to fit the DUI. This option is better in many ways but will it be as warm. Also it's more expensive though I could sell the Polar Bears suit to recompense some or all of it.
Any thoughts. My only problem with the DUI is that the cut is so good (ie. close) that I only have room for the one undersuit. Otherwise the suit is really quite fantastically good
