Potentially stupid question

Sorry if this is off topic but could i just ask,

What difference does it make whether your backup is an octopus or whether it is a normal XTX? I thought that the inside of and XTX 40 octo would be the same as the inside of a XTX 40 primary.

Is it just to have them in cool black or am i missing somthing?

Thanks

StabJacket

correct, the only difference is the colour of the faceplate.

Can't speak for others, but the main reason I keep mine all black is for simplicity. Between my wife & myself I have a total of nine 2nd stages, one of which is a spare, by keeping them all the same colour I can easily rotate one of them out for servicing.

& of course my wife insists that they are black to make her look slim!

cheers,
Paul
