DIR rig rental

Hi,

For some time now, I have been struggeling to get all my OWD students into a DIR rig. The results have been facinating and the ability of the resulting diver great.

Also while on live aboards, I want to be able to kit people up with a 5 minute notice, due to unique live-aboard logistics.
The main reason for this is to promote classes and especially DIR diving.

This year I got my 2 scooters..... so getting people into rigs fast, will be specially importand

I would like ideas on how to make standard crotch straps that can be detached quickly and easily without compromising their DIRnes ie. no buckles.
I was thinking that maybe they could be hight specific?

Also, what could be done to be able to quickly mesure a person to be able to adjust a back plate and get it right the first time.

Give it a think and lets see what we can come up with.

I would have thought it was obvious that with the endless permutations of harness legnth/crotch strap legnth and the single piece of webbing for a DIR harness that this is an impossibility. If you force people into a harness rig that has the D-rings in the wrong place (for them) or the harness is too tight/slack (for them) then it is not really following the ethos of DIR is it and the harness is never going to be a "Proper" fit.

I would think that taking the time to set the kit up for each student is paramount and I cant see the problem with this on a liveaboard; i.e. why not take the first few hours when the students are on the boat to get their rigs set properly for the remainder of their time onboard?

Just wondering if your clients feel the same way?

Unless you market it as an intro to DIR/tech type liveaboard, i'd be mightily
pi**ed off with anybody that attempted to run boot camp on my hols.

no don't get it wrong.
Say a girl asks to try monkey diving which is lots fun ten minutes before. Not me pushing but rather a client deciding late and me not wanting to let them down.

Or

When a person wants to give the gear a serious go, we don't have to spend toooo much of their time, thus discouraging others.
