| Mares Quattro... lightweight, flippery thing vs Jetfin... big, fat, heavy rubber thingie. I prefer Jetfins for many reasons, I don't like lightweight fins for drysuit diving. Depends what you want/like. I'll see if I can dig it out, there is a study by an American university's sports science department where they tested 20-odd different fins by looking at how much energy a diver used (i.e how much O2 they consumed) for a given speed. They found that all the fins tested performed exactly the same, despite different designs, vents, channels, etc., and that the differences were subjective, simply down to diver perception of how they felt. Think about that the next time you see a shiney pair of £100 fins in your dive shop!!!

| IIRC it was done by NY State University in Buffalo, I had a PDF of it somewhere. I'll dig about for it.
