Halcyon "Try before you buy"

Hi Guys

Im sure ive read on YD that Underwater Explorers let you try/hire Halcyon gear if youre thinking of buying.

I'm looking to move from a BCD to a backplate/wing for single tank diving and i'm pretty sure id like the eclipse 30lb system, but id like to try it out to see if it really is for me before parting with my hard earned

Does anyone know if UE or other Halcyon dealers will do this? Don't mind paying to hire the kit for a dive.

Would be particularly interested to hear if Vobster will do this as its easier for me to get there, and I fancy having a dive there anyway.

Thanks,
James

Give em a call you never know:-)

Or come on one of the up and coming YD trips to Stoney, I'll happily let you have a play with my gear whilst your there. A lot of people on the board use Halcyon gear so there is ample oppurtunity to have a play for free.

Hi James,

the Halcyon dealer closest to Ware is 2DIVE4 in Stansted Mountfitchet. They do try b4U buy on their other gear so I guess they may do it with the Halcyon products. I would give them a call.

HTH.

Mark.

Underwater Explorers will hire out the Halcyon gear for you to give it a go. Don't know about Vobster but I doubt it.

And then knock off the hire cost if you decide to buy, and IIRC they keep the offer open at least a month (so you can sleep on it / try something else)

Cheers, Paul

Thanks guys, will give UE and 2DIVE4 a call. Might take a trip to Vobster to take a look at the kit and have a dive anyway.

Would be good to see other peoples kit on a gig sometime. Will have to work on getting myself on one, but not got a car at the moment and spending so much on diving kit isnt helping
