I now see you can get a Halcyon 10w for £345 quid pounds, which i can afford now!
Ive got a dive next weekend and a weekend in Cornwall coming up.
Shall i get the Halcyon now or will i regret it and save a bit longer?
Help please!!!
Hi,

I would steer clear of the current style Halcyon 10watt light. I have one of the original 10watt lights which has a proper reflector like the 18/20 lights (Halcyon & Salvo) and produces a much tighter and more powerful beam than the current 10 watt Halcyon model.

This is the Salvo 10watt light (looks just like mine):

This is my 10 watt in action:

There is little discernible difference in performance between my 10watt and an 18watt since fitting the extend ultra-bright reflector (standard on Halcyon 18watt lights).

I would go for a 10watt Salvo now or wait until you can afford an 18/21/24.

HTH

Mark.

Hi.

I have a torch my mate made out of fibreglass over ten years ago, apart from the annual replacement of the reflector, it is still going like a good un, plus you can warm your hands on it in winter, or cook eggs on it in summer.

Just don't turn it on out of the water, unless you want a quick look at the clouds.

Yep, here's a picture of my pico-watt carbon-arc light that I bought from the pound shop

The picture was taken by my mate just after I was showing to the aliens that had just abducted me

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

A. So the sea urchin could see her chin!
