| IANDIR. Having been presented with trainess in trouble on a few occassions, my preferance is to take positive control of the situation. Don't give the disstressed diver a chance to make A wrong decision or fluff the action. Have a read on Eustress and Disstress and you may agree this makes sense. In the case under discussion (and I have been there), I would take a firm grip of the casualty with my right hand, remove my regulator with the left, push it in the casualty's mouth (as soon as they spit theirs out), purging the reg on the way. As soon as they have my reg in their gob I can retrieve my primary with my right hand. I have practised picking up my backup with my teeth but it's not been 100 % reliable and I would prefer to maintain eyecontact with the casualty. If DIR have an established procedure, sorry for interjecting. |

| I understand where you're coming from Matt but would you donate a Hog looped reg with your left hand? Surely it would make more sense to grab them with your left and donate with your right. Can't see how you'd avoid tangling your arm and hoses a bit if you did it with the left using your method. Cheers,
