Granted, he did not explicitly say that, I know, but the implication was certainly there.... Quote:
I have re-read it and can read it no other way. It is this arrogant attitude which has given DIR a bad name in the past and is why YD with its generally sensible and constructive moderation, has taken great strides in dispelling the arrogance. Mal |

| Let's all cut the bloke some slack here guys. He posted some information about diving in another part of the world, about the risks some people endure, and that it's sad that these people have to operate in an envirnoment so completely at odds with at least one philosophy of diving, and all we've done is have a go a go at him. Considering his first language isn't English, I think he did a far better job than I could ever have managed in ANY other language. He gets MY vote for effort! BTW, I'm not even close to DIR, and take no offence from what he's said.

| Argh.. I never found a forum so difficult to post! At least we are not discussing the lobster divers issue anymore... it looks like I made my point. Just for the record, there are good and bad divers everywhere (DIR and non-DIR). I don't think anybody can say that he or she is a better diver because embraces a configuration. So why don't whe stop discussing this useless things and we all go underwater? (using DIR configuration, inspiration rebreathers, BCs, force fins, etc... etc... etc..., I don't care about equipment, as long we are underwater, safe and having fun, that's what counts!!! ) Cheers ![]() |
