Guys, we simply read it and haver a different point of view. I have read the post, and re-read the post and it still reads the same to me. I don't believe any of us wrote any 'inflammatory comments' either.

Allow me to have my different point of view, you may have read it differently, good for you.

I don't see any DIR bating here, some of you appear to have....once again.... a different point of view. It happens, no need to circle the wagons every time though.

Daniel is more than welcome on the forum, not because he is DIR etc, but mostly because he has an opinion and is willing to discuss and defend it if necessary, the hallmarks of a good member. I believe his languuage skills are more than apt to make his point and I am sure, more than apt to defend that pov as required.

Whilst the experienced DIR divers on this board are as you say 'non confrontational' there are, in my opinion several newer members that seem to want to look for DIR bating where there is none, who want to promote DIR in a way that is potentially insulting to other divers, and show an arrogance about the DIR path that raises the heckles of a lot of other members who have dived safely for many years but have not fully subscribed to DIR route.

This is a DIR area of a non DIR forum, the posts in this area will be read by non-DIR divers, things should really bepposted with this in mind, whether offence is intended or not it is best to just avoid it in the first place.

Can't argue with that, and it goes both ways

My comments were not just about this thread, in fact they were more about a trend that I'd noticed developing on here recently. Others may not have noticed it but, as you say, it's about how you interpret things. I can see why you would think what you did about the OP, but are you prepared to admit that you could have mis-interpreted it yourself (apologies if you have and I've missed it)?

To be honest I don't think I could have interpretted it any other way mate, BUT I agree that the way I interpreted it may not be the way Daniel intended.

As I said to someone else earlier about this thread, in retrospect, its a shame this post wasn't on the main board without the DIR reference, as the subject of the dangers of poor divers is one we are all interested in.

That's very true (or should that be , given the subject matter?)

Well ................................ I am a bit of a selfish git and only really worry about me (when solo) and the others on the boat (I suppose / esp if it is their first round later) ......... oh and anyone I know who dives ............

I suppose if new divers had kit I could use I would pay a bit more attention?

Please don't get stressed, I'm only being facetious (for a change) .

............................. I heard that and I can!!!! ............oh, you didn't say "you can't", did you?
