Has anyone had a chance to try the new Evolve wing from Halcyon?

Is it DIR given it's new shape?

Would have to say no I haven't.

But given that Halcyon = GUE = DIR in most peoples books then I would venture to say that it is probably considered DIR yes.

BTW, Post an intro for yourself, it always helps us to get to know you and what you want from YD etc etc.

Edit : Fill in your profile as well

Cheers

I don't think anyone has tried one yet as they're waiting on the CE approval to go through.

Rich Walker and Andy Kerslake are over in Florida at the moment so I guess they'll be trying it out. I think they're back in a week or so and no doubt he'll have plenty to say.

The shape of the wing is using the same principles that the Eclipse wing uses so it is still DIR yes.

I have purchased one from the states, so will let you know how I get on with it once it arrives.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Thanks for the feedback. I look forward to hearing how it turned out.

BTW, I have been reading your forum on and off for the last year. I am planning to do the DIR-F in February when work calms down

Thanks, Gisli.

You'd better get a place booked then if you haven't already.

I know places are booked up into March already.

PM RichW on here and Rich will sort you out.

Hi everybody,

I'm also a regulary reader of this forum. It really has a lot of useful information especially about DIR- and GUE-stuff (i did my DIR-F this year over here in Germany).

As to the topic: Diving usually an Explorer 40lbs, I had the opportunitiy to try the Evolve for some dives a couple of weeks ago. Really nice one to me. It improved my trim (I still have a small amount of overbalance headwards), but I didn't try it diving with stages. Might be a bit more difficult because of the circular bladder.
