Actually, if you don't mind buying second-hand and waiting for the right deal, you can get DIR kit fairly cheaply. It's what I did, apart from the Evolve and the Salvo which were new.

Come on, 360 pounds for a Halcyon full wing, plate and harness? Not too bad considering a lot of the other 'tekkie' wings out there are in the region of 450...

The Apeks WTX3 is getting there, but would still need a few modifications such as removal of that fixed D-ring and pull dump (if it has one).

The wing is £110 from Divers Warehouse, so is quite an attractive option, but I would still want to see if before making a purchase.

Yup, shame the Apex wings for twins are too big

Exclamation Travel DIR

Get an ali plate, the harness you can rig yourself, with a little help and scour Ebay for a Pioneer - I picked one up for a £100, ideal for travel and weighs next to nothing,

Ahh, but owning DIR compliant kit is only a small part of being DIR

Hi Tricky,

I don't understand. The dumps on my buddy wings are on the back of the wing so don't wrap on the cylinder.

I'm just going by Tek Wing my brother dives with, and the pictures I've seen on the internet, but I'm pretty sure the kidney dump is on the cylinder side of the wing (I think I'd call that the back). You don't want it that side, you want it person side so it's pointing outwards when the wing wraps the tank, not inwards.
