Weezle "IS" a high loft undersuit. It will keep you warm, but you need to keep lots of gas in it.

Read up about undersuits and, in particular "Type B" thinsulate. This will keep its insulation properties when under pressure (not much gas in the suit) and even when wet.

Hi

My thoughts are that you would need to run more gas in your suit to stay as warm as with a DUI 400. Whether you wish to do that or not is entirely up to you.

The Type 'B' undersuits such as the DUI 400 Really come into their own when you have a flood/leak.

If you have to face 30+ mins of deco with a leaking suit, even in the summer with 18DegC water, it will be very uncomfortable and the deco will be poor. With a Type B undersuit, more gas is trapped in the fibres which helps prevent total loss of thermal insulation. It is design to be compressed whilst still maintaining thermalprotection.

I have come out of a dive soaking, with a DUI and still felt warm. It is worth the investment IMHO.

Or try a SANTI Thinsulate. Do a search either here or on DIRx to get some feedback. I think the cost is about £180.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Did 85mins in a totally flooded suit wearing a 400g DUI under suit 8-9c water depending on which computer you believed, 60mins of the 85min static on deco.

I was very very impressed with the performance of the DUI undersuit.

That said the cut of the suit and the overly baggy arms and legs is a real PITA. The stirrups are rubbish and it takes for ever to dry one after its got soaked. After leaving it out in the occasional sun for a week I took it to the laundrette and gave it 3 goes in a tumble dryer. It was still damp?????

Another two days hung up in the bedroom finally got it dry.

On warmth on a scale of 1 -10 its a 10

It is very very floaty and required an additional 4kg (Yes 4) to sink it over what I use with my Exotherm Arctic and forth element base layer.

So in short its not perfect, it has issues but it is the best performing under suit i have ever owned. (I thought the Weasel was rubbish)

Four kg is a lot. That must mean more gas use?

I got a Santi 400 BZ. It's made-to-measure and cost £170. I haven't dived it much yet, but early impressions are very good. I ordered mine through Marcin Kaluza on DIR Explorers (I believe he's on here too).
