And yes I did...
How are you defining new? Since March this year?

Well I bought mine from "Currently Being Bummed Barry" just before Nackers took on the Salvo dealership, somewhat annoyingly p1ss1ng on my chips as I was just asking to do the same thing.

Funnily enough, I've had exactly the same experience. I bought one of the original 21w Salvos before Mr Knackers took them on and changed the shroud over to an EKPP to improve the focusing. Using the original bulb, it had a dramatic effect on the beam and I was very, very happy with it. Talk about light sabres - this was like Obi Wan Kenobi on steroids!!!!!!

I then upgraded my 21w to one of the newer 18w bulbs and, whilst the purity and quality of the light was significantly improved, I found that the EKPP reflector wouldn't focus the beam correctly. Eventually I switched back to the original Salvo reflector which immediately fixed the problem, ableit not to the same standard as the EKPP reflector with the original bulb. It's a real shame that the newer bulbs don't seem to like the EKPP reflector as it was a quality item...

I guess the question is whether I'd go back to the old bulb to benefit from the improved focusing on the EKPP reflector? The simple answer is no - whilst I miss the tight, solid rod of light that the EKPP produced, the improved colour temperature and purity of the newer bulbs still wins hands down...

BTW - if anyone's interested, here's a pic which shows the difference in size between the EKPP and the original Salvo reflector...

...and another shot showing the old (right) and new (left) bulbs...

Yep, thanks to Rob I have an EKPP head for my 10W and it does make a big difference and I have a much nicer tighter beam

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

If only! The other one belongs to a member of my team...

BTW - re: GLOC's comment. Does anyone have any experience of the AGIR reflector? Is it as good as the EKPP and does it work with the new 21w Salvo bulb? Now I'm interested...

ps GLOC - I think the guy you mean is Tobin...
