Due to a change in personal circumstances, I have decided with much regret to stop teaching for GUE from the end of December 2006. I realise this may come as quite a surprise to many of you.

I have been involved with GUE since the very beginning and seen it grow from a simple idea to an organisation that appeals to divers around the world. GUE has grown significantly and I am sure will continue to do so.

With regards to any students/ex students all scheduled courses will take place, and those who have any questions regarding qualifications, evaluation dives, experience dives etc do now worry, we just need to get all of this done by the end of the year. Please feel free to email me at akerslake@gasdiving.co.uk or send a PM.

For those that I have met and trained with in various countries, I would like to thank you for all your efforts, hard work and commitment to GUE. Many of you are now good friends and I am sure we will be seeing each other on future dives/projects.

I will see some of you at the upcoming gig in the UK which is something I am looking forward to - in the meantime for everybody dive safe.

As many of you will know, Andy has been instrumental in bringing GUE training to the UK. To state that the UK DIR community owes him a big debt of gratitude for his hard work over the years would be putting it mildly!

On a more personal note, I've always found Andy to be one of the most friendly, open, ego-free and courteous people I've had the pleasure of training with and knowing. I've made some real good friends in the diving community over the years and I like to count Andy amongst them. Whatever he chooses to do, I wish him the very best.

GUE are a training agency. He's stated he's not teaching for GUE anymore.

Anything else is speculation......

Absolutely. Speculation does no one any good and most of what gets said is usually so wide of the mark that it's laughable anyway! If Andy wants to elaborate on any aspect of his decision or future plans, then that's up to him - otherwise let's just accept his decision and wish him the best for the future!

Ahh but I am well aware that GUE is an agency.

No doubt Andy hasn't released further info.

Why does anything related to GUE/DIR have to be jumped upon, it's not the "Free Masons" you know.
