When I bought my torch I asked my LDS to get me a warm water handle to look at so I could compare the two as I only have small hands the warmwater handle is described in the Halcyon catalogue, SP wouldn't supply one unless I or my LDS paid for it. That doesn't strike me as good customer service.

SP recently asked my LDS why he doesn't sell more Halcyon torches

I got as far as post 37 before I gave up.
I would not be seen dead with a yorkshire terrier but some folk love em.
why should I worry about it, if you want kit with an H on so what....

The early Proteus 3 HiDs (with focusable head) had a problem with breaking bulbs and at £70+ a shot they were not cheap. Halcyon refused to accept any blame etc. Is that what is called 'paying the price'.

(Strangely enough despite denying a problem a modification was made to later models). Quality customer service - I think not!

This is not a Halcyon issue. The Sale of Goods act says that, as a customer, you have a contract with the seller (i.e. the dive shop) that they provide equipment that is "fit for purpose". If the light was not, then your shop (the seller) must replace, repair or refund.

Had you bought a light from me that was not fit for purpose, then I would have replaced it or rectified the problem immediately. That is my role and obligation as a seller. It is NOT a Halcyon issue.

I would of course attempt to follow this up with the distributors, but thats my problem, not the customers.
