back kicks

ok ok ok its easy. I have spent hours and hours and hours trying to learn how to do this. Some smart arse swims up to you passes you the thing that was hanging out in a normal muppet type mode then just to make matters worse reverses backwards into a three point turn (helicopter style) and swims off as if nothing was ever a problem. oh and im not talking about me :-)

sorry //rant mode off

went to the pool tonight with one of the regulars here not telling you his name because he does not need anymore greens. In ten mins I was swiming backwards with ease, I cant wait to try it with fins on. I tell you its easy I just dont know why it takes someone 2 mins to show you and then with just few false starts I was doing it. I am totaly amased that it was so easy to learn. The longest I swam backwards in one go was 15 feet but that is 15 feet further than i have ever managed before.

guessing he will be along soon to tell you all how good I (he) was. Thanks Mate.

David

not a problem. back kicking in a pool without fins is just one of those things that just seems like it shouldn't work until someone shows you how.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

I can do it in the pool no problem, in a single rig just about, in a twin set its a strugle and in a CCR its damed near impossable

It drives me quite mad sometimes.

That's why it's gotta be done in a pool. It just can't be properly explained online. Otherise I'd have written a trite, obvious and overly lengthy post about it by now.

Head down knees bent try not to let the water notice that your legs are moving backwards. Helicopter turns are easy. I have no idea how I do them though. I just do. Round and round and round. Wheeeeeeeeee!

I remember on one Farnes trip, Gledders and Jamsie....

The lesson was carried out in the bar, and IRRC went something like.... horizontal trim, head down, knees bent, move fins like this, 12 ball corner pocket....

LOL, Paul

The only helicopter turn he can normally manage with us is when Whiskey Bravo has to turn round to come and winch him off the boat
