| Halcyon Backplate just cureous, how come the bottom edges of the Halcyon backplate are turned back slightly? |
| ||||
| It's a little more comfortable on your back - stops it from digging in or wearing your drysuit.

| Mini-hydrofoils for perfect hydrodynamics? Or maybe to stop the edges digging in when you arch your back |

| its that simple.... i feel like a right idiot now. lol....surely those edges couldnt abraid the wing tho? |

| Jonny, You can't have it all ways mate and usually the suits a dam site more expensive than the wing Besides if there aren't any burrs on the plate is would take an age to wear through anything.

| Yes, it's to make it more comfortable. It won't abrade the wing as it touches on a non-moving part of the wing, and also even if some abrasion were to occur (and I've never seen it), it would be on the area between the buoyancy cell, so no chance of puncturing the bladder. Rich

| all is good. Cant wait to buy one now. My prob is i love new looking kit and im scared im going to get addicted to polishing the plate at all times getting pissed off when people leave paw prints all over it ![]() |

| I would look around for the cheapest 3mm SS backplate out of: Agir, DirZone, DeepSea Supply, Woz, Halcyon... It makes feck all difference. If someone like RichW is going to meet up with you and help you rig it and get it to fit right then the Halcyon is probably worth the extra money but don't think just because it has a H on it it's any better than the next one. |

| I seen alot of debate on which kit to get, the impression i seem to get is that theyre all pretty much the same, but what u pay extra for usually means a fantastic support network. Im new to diving but ive never heard of people taking u diving for the day for free. Its quite an amazing thing to have a close knit group that are willing to leand things. Again i find that so nice that people dont even know me, and yet theyre willing to lend kit. |
