So, basically Luxfer want to save money by not painting their cylinders and then market it to us as an improved feature ?

Except they are actually better off without the paint. If I look at my Ali painted cylinders, the paint is often blistered around where they scratch. That gets very difficult to "treat" without stripping off the paint around the area.

Oh and as long as they don't insist on painting Black and white quarters on the UK ones

not me.. I lurve my white Ali80.

Lets be honest though.. take any Ali cylinder through a seasons wreck diving and they are going to look shite..

Remember the last set that came out and loads of people rushed to change their white Ali80 stages for the brushed versions? They all look shite now.. Worth the money? Better in water characterics? Better breathe? Better SAC? Nope pure vanity..
